In or near Houston?
Lisa Hibshman-Moore needs your help.

Lisa's white blood cells are gone.
A result of my wife's chemotherapy associated with getting a stem cell transplant (bone marrow) is the elimination of the her own blood production capability. Without white blood cells, any infection must be fought with multiple antibiotics.
When a particularly stubborn infection does not respond to antibiotics, doctors sometimes opt for infusing donated white blood cells to fight the infection. Lisa is fighting two infections and may need donated white blood cells. White blood cells are not collected and stored in blood banks like other blood products. They are collected and used quickly.
You can help.
If you live in or near Houston, you can become a white blood cell donor for Lisa at MD Anderson. It does take time and several visits to the blood collection center. You must be screened to see if you are a suitable donor. Blood type does not matter, but other factors must be just right.
